Log Splitter Seems to Be Lacking Power, Why?

Have a briggs and stratton 675 series wood splitter and it sounds like it is running rough. It will still split wood but I havent tryed any big logs because it doesnt seem to be getting to full throttle. I have cleaned the spark plug as that is what I did first. What seems to be the problem? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

HmmI’m not sure if we will solvethis question with the quality info

Your log splitter relies on hydraulic power to drive the ram to split the log. If your engine is not running at full rpm then you are not developing enough hydraulic pressure. There may be a high speed adjustment ***** on the carburetor or an adjustment ***** on the governor which needs to be adjusted to allow the engine to reach maximum rpm.

Try changing the fuel and air filters,

Lubricate the throttle linkage and check the gas cap vent for good air flow. If that does not solve the problem, check the fuel filter and air filter. Then take it to the local service center for a spring tune up.
