A supply- and fundraiser for the homeless of Ocean County, especially those in the Tent City section of Lakewood, will begin 9:30 p.m. Saturday at High Velocity Sports Bar and Grill on Atlantic City Boulevard (Route 166), Beachwood.
Patrons may bring cash or supplies, such as wood burning stoves; precut wood or compressed-paper firewood such as Duraflame fire logs; lanterns and lantern propane tanks; hydraulic wood-splitters; outdoor chairs; zero-degree rated sleeping bags; blankets; winter jackets of all sizes; hats, gloves, and scarves; warm clothing for adults, both male and females, all sizes; flashlights and batteries; nonperishable food; toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner, body soap, razors, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and female sanitary items; paper and plastic products such as plates, utensils, cups, napkins, and paper towels; camping stoves and grills; tents; tarps; air mattresses; and gift cards to retail stores such as Walmart and The Home Depot as well as to local food and general stores.
