The teammates helped the family prepare for the coming winter by splitting wood.
They worked all day loading the wood splitters and stacking wood. Their coach, Dan Warkentien and his brother Dave, along with Dave Pliske and Matthew Bim-Merle supervised the boys and operated the log splitters.
“It was a beautiful day and all of these guys worked so hard in my behalf when they could have been doing a million other things that were much more enjoyable with their families or friends,” said Sue and Gemme Pizarek in a statement. “God bless you guys and be assured you’ll be in our prayers for life.”
