BROWNSTOWN TWP. — A man operating a log splitter nearly severed his arm while cutting a large piece of wood.
Police were called to a lot in the 24000 block of Kar-nack Court at about 1 p.m. Nov. 3 and spoke with the man’s work partner.
According to a police re-port, the partner, a 59-year-old homeless man, could not specifically tell police who they work for.
Police could not get any information from the in-jured man.
He was in excruciating pain and was being treated by the Brownstown Fire Department paramedics when police arrived.
The man’s partner told police he did not actually observe what occurred, but knows he was operating a log splitter.
The partner could only give police the first name of the man they worked for and said he was not sure what type of business the man operates.
An officer found a 1985 Mack dump truck parked in the same unit where the men were working.
It was registered to a con-struction business in New-port, according to the re-port.
